| Injuries Regarding Cancel Fees |
The Board recognizes the financial burden caused by an injury of not only not being able to officiate, plus the possibility of cancellation fees. There are three levels to have the fees rescinded:
Level One: No turnback fees will be assessed if an umpire receives and provides to Gary Frieders a letter from their physician stating specifically that they cannot officiate from “X” date to “Y” date. No turnback fees will be assessed during this period. Any turnbacks before “X” date will be assessed. If you need to extend “Y” date, you must provide a new letter from the physician. However, a same day cancelation fee of $10 will always be assessed if you turnback an assignment on the same day as “X” date.
Level Two: If an official has already scheduled assignments and has to turnback a series of assignments and they do not wish to obtain a physician’s letter, there will be a maximum $25 turnback fee for the series of dates as requested by the official. If the official needs to extend the date and has to turn back assignments in that extended dates, a maximum of $25 turnback fee will be assessed in those extended dates.
Level Three: If an official keeps turning games back on a individual day-by-day basis, each turnback will be assessed as per current policy.
|
Work Alone Policy |
If you work alone and you’re suppose to have a partner, you will receive 1.5 game fee at the stated rate. This does not apply to leagues that provide volunteers.
If you do not call Jerry and advise him that your partner is late and you work one or several games by yourself, you will not be paid the extra 1/2 time for working “alone.” This will not apply if there is no phone at the site you are working or no partner is assigned due to lack of officials.
